Marriage of Convenience

We have all heard of the term 'Marriage of Convenience.' Lets take a closer look at the definition of the word convenience. Convenience means suitability to one's purpose or needs or personal comfort or advantage. Therefore if marriage is entered into solely for convenience there isn't any place set aside for commitment, loyalty or true love. The marriage has been established only for self centered reasons, given no thought to the other person's needs desires or well being.

A marriage of convenience is a marriage that will eventually crumble lacking the foundation that it needs to survive. Some may argue the point believing because of the no strings attached persona, it will be a union of freedom to do what ever one wants without the worry of consequences. Even if both parties chooses to engage in such a union over time it will take a toll emotionally, and the structure will began to grow weak on one or both partners having a dramatic effect that will last a life time.

We as human beings needs the security of love and stability. A feeling of belonging is a natural part of every individual.Having love, loyalty and stability in our lives is like water to our bodies. It is essential in order for us to be well rounded individuals. A marriage of convenience is not a secure, loving and solid relationship. Think of it as a dream house being built. The frame stands tall but still a lot is missing before it can be called a home.
